The Reshuffle – Pearce Institute, Glasgow, Govan (18/19 March) with Andy Wightman, Alastair McIntosh, Bill Fraser, Bob Hamilton and Ian Frameall the details are here. Now in its 5th year the Reshuffle: “…combines the idea of creating a space where we can find out about an explore some of the on going issues, campaigns and information of what is happening around the city. But it is also a family fun day, and would be nothing without the Cardboard Club, Galgael, the Science Festival, RIB bookfair, Document film festival, and all the other stalls and activities that congregate at the PI each year.”

Susan George, political scientist and world-renowned author will talk about her new book on challenging the world’s super rich neoliberal elite with an achievable greener, fairer future ‘Who’s Crisis, Whose Future?’ at WMD Scotland’s Glasgow event ‘Visions of Global Justice’ (Glasgow 19 March 10am – 4.15pm). Susan George is a Patron of the international development charity, Tools for Self Reliance, President of the Transnational Institute, Amsterdam, and Honourary President of ATTAC. Her most famous writing includes How the Other Half Dies: The Real Reasons for World Hunger (Penguin) 1976 and A Fate Worse Than Debt (Penguin) 1988 (an analysis of the reasons for Third World debt.) We interviewed her this morning and will publish this as soon as the transcript is done!

Changin’ Scotland A weekend of discussion, ideas, politics and culture at The Ceilidh Place, Ullapool. (Fri 25th til Sun 27th) run by Jean Urquhart and Gerry Hassan (more details to follow).
