Ach, you would have beaten Carmichael hands down Lesley, and you know it. Danus is a nice guy but lacks an edge, yet still got within 800 votes. Maybe you could consider standing if/when the pompous one resigns?

I also agree with the folk that want you to stand. I know it’s a ways from Fife to Shetland (and to WM, but your knowledge of Nordic culture is extremely relevant and you would be a great MP. I thought so when I first met you at Peoples Parliament in Manchester and I think so even more now.
