  1. Alf Baird says:

James Kelman hits the nail on the heid – language!

Exclusion, oppression, discrimination, racism, alienation, colonisation, Scots cultural cringe, vote naw/vote Britain, we’re too wee/poor/stupit mindset etc etc etc:

All these and more are outcomes of linguistic suppression (reading and writing, i.e. literacy) of Scotland’s mither tongue.

Aye, a Scots Language Act IS that important, because it would change the culture tae whit it naiturally shuid be.

  2. Fay Kennedy. says:

More of James Kelman so authentic and enlightening in this time of such hollow men and women dare I say.

  3. Billy McChord says:

“Every voice is a unique voice and that destroys the stereotype.” Fascinating conversation between two unique Glasgow voices, who to quote Tom Leonard are “outside the narrative”.

  4. Ryan Buchanan says:

So great to hear James Kelman talk about his dedication to his art. Great to listen to this pair of voices. Some brilliant quotes in there! Thanks to all those responsible.
