Oidhche Challain [The Old New Year]

15380762_353476775008191_8818604262795494480_nOn January 12th we’ll say hello to the New Year in the old tradition, reaching an important point in the Celtic Calendar. The candle burning brightly in the window is a sure sign that we’ll be welcoming passing friends and neighbours inside for a traditional ceilidh at the Glad Café. Come and witness some of the by-gone rituals which will help us bury the old year and and share our songs, stories and bonnach to celebrate the new.

We’ll be first-footed by folk like Mairi Campbell (award winning musician, singer and dancer), Gillebride MacMillan (Internationally renowned Gaelic singer from South Uist and Outlander star) and Murray Willis & Friends will provide a few tunes for dancing – so bring your dancing shoes and your own songs and stories and we’ll keep the fire burning through the night!

This is a fundraising event for Bella Caledonia. Buy your tickets here.

Thursday 12 January 2017, 7.30-10.30 pm.
The Glad Cafe, 1006 Pollokshaws Rd, Glasgow G41 2HG
