Winter Solidarity

We are looking for innovative Scottish charities and projects to highlight over the Christmas period via our network. We are particularly looking for projects which favour solidarity as an approach and work with homeless and vulnerable people, refugee support, and people in real need at Christmas. Your suggestions are welcome.

In cold dark times we need to transcend difference and stand together.

We’ll be doing a showcase twice a week to gather support and offer an alternative to Xmas Consumption Fever. Thanks.

Mike, you have to feature the wonderful Mool (Massive Outpouring of Love) in Dumfries – set up by one person to support Calais refugees some four or five years ago, and now a significant local actor in all forms of support for refugees.

    1. sounds good – thanks – will do

Apart from my monthly contributions to environment organisations. At Christmas I do a single donation to the Salvation Army. From the start of this year I do a monthly contribution to Humanity and Inclusion, I came across this organisation at the start of the year one of their projects is making prosthetic limbs for children. It is unacceptable in modern society that children cannot go out and be children without getting blown up by mainly western manufactured ordnance?

Have you thought about sharing and supporting RA? We are an Edinburgh based charity that provides a range of services, which help people out of the misery that is repeat homelessness. http://www.rowanalba.org
