The Howff – Songs from the Lockdown

howff /haʊf/. A favourite meeting place or haunt, especially a pub.

How we all doing in lockdown? So the Howff is an idea where musicians and other artists who’ve lost their live gig income profile themselves here and people can support them and get some good tunes.

Here’s a great new great project from Becci Wallace called Sunday Songwriting: “Every week, two tasks are set and then each member has a week to write two songs and upload them… they then can join in a group feedback session on zoom and there is a weekly bandcamp release called ‘Songs from Lockdown’.

“Marking this unique moment in time from the perspective of songwriters, musicians and poets across the UK. Sunday Songwriting is a weekly group set up to allow creatives to use their skills while on lock-down. The group is peer-lead and task-based. Each week, two tasks are set and participants can write songs based on the task. Here are just some of the examples of the inspiring work from week one. A new album every week.”
