Easter Howff

howff /haʊf/. A favourite meeting place or haunt, especially a pub.

Welcome. The Howff is a space where musicians and other artists who’ve lost their live gig income profile themselves here and people can support them and get some good tunes. We host and promote other peoples live events too.

Your suggestions are welcome.

First up we have the fresh digital release of the amazing Away with the Birds by Hanna Tuulikki … “This digital release introduces the vocal composition that sits at the heart of Hanna Tuulikki’s Away with the Birds | Air falbh leis na h-eòin, a body of work exploring the mimesis of birds in traditional Scottish Gaelic song. It features a studio album alongside a live recording of a unique outdoor performance.”

[Mimesis is Rhetoric. imitation or reproduction of the supposed words of another, as in order to represent his or her character. (in literature, film, art, etc.) 1. imitation of the real world, as by re-creating instances of human action and events or portraying objects found in nature: This movie is a mimesis of historical events. 2. the showing of a story, as by dialogue and enactment of events.
