Very Good, well presented, well crafted ideas.

Very familiar to me, being living in Finland for 20 odd years. Mökki (hut) is often back at the ancestral family farm. Shared amongst family members. You can buy and sell as well. There also municipally owned huts you can rent. You can build one yourself on rented or owned land. Land ownership is usually municipal held land so it is easier to build, and the land is not tied up with secretive and a few private land owners, who are more interested in Grouse shooting a few times a year.
Personally I don’t think I need one, as I live in the suburb of a small 100K city in Eastern Finland, where I’m 200 yards from the lake for swimming, and forest half a mile a way. and have the Finnish essential, a wood fired sauna in the cellar.
One other thing I would add, and actively would encourage is the introduction of the sauna culture. Very social, will relax the anglo-saxon attitude to body issues, and damn good for warming after some cold swimming. 🙂
