Interview – Iona Lee & Jim Monaghan chat to Neu Reekie’s Kat Gollok and Michael Pedersen

Our group zoom chat interview by Iona Lee and Jim Monaghan with Michael Pedersen and Kat Gollock from Neu! Reekie! on the revival of independent bookshops, and the anti-Amazon backlash, the cultural response to the corona virus, Untitled Three and weird times …

It’s 2019 and Neu! Reekie! is now a prize-winning literary collective and arts production house that have been curating and producing cross-culture shows for over nine years. These occur in and around Scotland and internationally (Japan, New Zealand, Spain, North America, France, Indonesia, New Zealand).

Neu Reekie released Untitled #3 during the lockdown, replacing the traditional launch events with this film “Anywhere but Amazon” featuring the poets and musicians from the compilation in some of Ediburgh’s best independent bookshops – Portobello Books, Elvis Shakespeare, Golden Hare, Lighthouse and Toppings.
