November Bella Chats – Solareye

For this month’s Bella Chat I met up with (virtually of course) Rapper, Poet and Hip-Hop Academic Dave Hook aka Solareye. Known for his role fronting Scottish Hip-Hop group Stanley Odd, their single of 2014 Son I Voted Yes became an iconic part of the burst of creativity the Scottish referendum inspired that year. This year they returned after a break of a few years with a batch of new singles.  Solareye’s 2018 solo album, All These People Are Me won best hip-hop album at the Scottish Alternative Music Awards.

We talk about his work at Napier University, the recent Stanley Odd singles, independence, Scottish Hip-Hop and much more. click here to find out more about Solareye
