Saturday Night at The Howff with Sister John, Randolph’s Leap & Lou McLean
howff /haʊf/. A favourite meeting place or haunt, especially a pub.
The Howff is Bella’s Boozer, your virtual lounge for the lockdown. Every week we bring you new releases and recommendations for your listening pleasure. This week we bring you tracks from Lou McLean, Randolph’s Leap and Sister John
Singer-songwriter Lou McLean‘s new EP Locked Down in Leith is out on Monday. A fine collection of songs cataloguing her own lockdown experience will resonate with many of us. For The Howff we have a live version, from Leith, in lockdown, of the track Let’s Dance recorded for You Call That Radio. You can pre-order the EP, listen to Lou’s work and support her at her bandcamp page here
Howff favourites Randolph’s Leap return with a new album this week. Spirit Level is an upbeat collection of new songs from the Glasgow-based 8-piece. We have the bright opening track Up in Smoke for your pleasure tonight. You can but the album and here more of their work here
Sister John have a brand new single out on the prolific Last Night From Glasgow and it’s an absolute belter. How Can I Keep It Alive is a dreamy and hypnotic four minutes that will leave you wanting more. Thankfully the band are working towards a new album which will be out in May. You can follow Sister John here
