Saturday Night at The Howff with Teen Canteen, Roddy Woomble and Adam Stafford

howff /haʊf/. A favourite meeting place or haunt, especially a pub.

The Howff is Bella’s Boozer, your virtual lounge for the lockdown. Every weekend we bring you new releases and recommendations for your listening pleasure. This week we bring you new singles from Adam Stafford & Roddy Woomble and an old favourite from Teen Canteen

Falkirk-based composer Adam Stafford returns with a trippy psychedelic single rom his forthcoming ‘climate crisis’ album Trophic Asynchrony. The video for Ruptured Telecine, directed by Leo Bruge, covers the theme of the song, polarised discourse and widepread conspiracy theories. You can pre-order the album HERE

Roddy Woomble is a Howff favourite and is back in the Bella Cellar with the second single from the  Lo! Soul album. In Architecture in LA Woomble reflects on the architecture of the city re-imagined during lockdown. It’s an optimistic pop song that captures he saw as a “sunny, but weird, summer”.

Although familiar to many, this original version of Teen Canteen’s How We Met (Cherry Pie), recorded in 2012, was never released. From the soundtrack of the 2013 film Not Another Happy Ending its a sweet dollop of unapologetic pop, like apples dipped in toffee. Download the single and find out more about Teen Canteen HERE
