Candace G. Thomas is a creative professional with a deep interest in inequalities and human rights issues. Candace self-identifies as a “Showman-Traveller” and is passionate about improving the lives of Gypsy, Roma and Travellers (GRT) throughout the UK. She is a prominent GRT advocate/activist, who has conducted large scale ethnographic research with GRT communities at the University of Cambridge. Candace has since gone on to establish and lead the GRT Team at the United Nations House Scotland and is a Program Coordinator for EPIC Assist Charity Scotland. She designs international youth projects for disadvantaged or vulnerable persons, in particular: displaced minorities struggling to resettle in increasingly xeno-racist/hostile western societies.
