Màrtainn Mac a’ Bhàillidh qualified as an architect in 2014 and has lived and worked in Skye for nearly ten years. One of the Duolingo Gaelic course creators, he has been Adult Learning Manager at Sabhal Mòr Ostaig since 2019, primarily working on developing the SpeakGaelic course and the FICE assessment framework. He has been an organiser with the grassroots Gaelic advocacy group Misneachd since its founding in 2016 and is currently Chair of Comann nam Pàrant Phort Rìgh. Màrtainn retains an interest in architecture and the built environment through his campaigning on the rural housing crisis. He teaches Gaelic in his local community and regularly contributes to discussions on Gaelic, housing, architecture, and politics on BBC ALBA and Radio nan Gàidheal.
