Sara Chessa is a London-based independent journalist and Media Freedom activist.
She covers Human Rights for Independent Australia and other news outlets. For the Italian portal Filosofia in Movimento, she produced – together with the philosopher Antonio Cecere – the series of video talks “Freedom of Information and Human Rights” on the relation between democracy and the right to knowledge.
As a Media Freedom campaigner, she collaborates with the NGO Blueprint for Free Speech to raise awareness among European MPs on specific cases and threats for journalists and whistleblowers. From 2019 until today, she campaigned with Julian Assange’s father John Shipton for the liberation of the WikiLeaks publisher in England, Italy and at the Council of Europe in Strasbourg.
As a video presenter, she collaborates with the documentary initiatives of the publisher Inner Innovation Project, mainly focused on the debate between science and spiritual research.
As an inner quest scholar and Raja Yoga teacher, she holds workshops in London together with Federico Milanesi.
As a Sardinian language poet, she was awarded third place in the 2021 edition of the Montanaru Literary Prize in Desulo (Sardinia, Italy).
