Prof Will Lamb holds a Personal Chair in Gaelic Ethnology and Linguistics at the University of Edinburgh, where he has championed the study and preservation of Gaelic since joining the department of Celtic and Scottish Studies in 2010. His pioneering research in Gaelic linguistics and oral tradition culminated in the recent publication of Scottish Gaelic: A Comprehensive Grammar (Routledge, 2024).
Over the past twelve years, he has initiated and led a diverse array of funded projects in Gaelic language technology. In his spare time, he is a keen runner, fiction reader and traditional musician.
