Bella celebrates a million page views. Thanks to everyone for reading and contributing.

Thought we’d share this with you.  Yesterday Bella Caledonia reached the milestone of a million page views since we launched in 2008.  It’s quite humbling that an off-the-shelf blog run by two volunteers has grown like this.  It was a big boost too being voted  the 2nd best website in Scotland (after Blipfoto) in The List magazine poll.

We’d just like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has contributed to or read Bella Caledonia over the last four years.  As you can see from the stats we’re still getting around 1500-2000 page views per day so whatever you contribute is still being read and thought about.  It’s all been done pretty much on a shoestring – from the editing to the writing – but ideas are what count and as long as people want to disseminate and discuss them we’ll keep publishing them.

Aw the best from Kevin & Mike

Well done guys, although it comes as no surprise to this reader and occasional contributor – Bella is by far the most wide-ranging and thought-provoking blog in Scotland, helped by the wide variety of contributors. It’s at the top of my RSS feeds list for a reason!

There are many good blogs discussing the matters of the day, but when I think of Bella, I think of a blog that promotes new ideas and free-thinking. It’s a Scottish tradition we need to keep alive.

Well done, that’s great news! Reassuring to think how wide the readership must be, sounds like you’re managing to avoid just preaching to the choir. We need lots more of this 🙂
