Our appeal fund is now closed and you’ll be glad to hear we can stop bombarding you with pleas and begging letters on all platforms. We’ve raised an amazing £13,480 from 428 different people in seventeen countries across the world.
It turns out Bella has supporters and readers not just in Scotland but in Germany, Austria, Netherlands, Greece, Australia, Singapore, Greece, Denmark, France, Italy, Korea, Thailand, Switzerland, Sweden, New Zealand, and Japan … and elsewhere. It adds to the feeling of the diaspora coming together and gearing up for the historic year ahead.
A few weeks ago we had about £43.00 in our account and we now have a significant amount to go full-time for a period next year, the year of the referendum and to develop Closer. It wasn’t as much as we’d aimed for – but this is a new form of fundraising and publishing and we’re all learning how this works and how best to do it.
Our glass if half-full and we’re just delighted with the support we’ve got and really inspired by the many emails of support we’ve had from people who appreciate what we’re trying to do. We are completely blown away by your kind support.
Running a blog can be a fairly isolated activity at times and this is probably the best thing to come out of this process.
So a massive thank you to everyone – including the very generous Mr and Mrs Anonymous. We are compiling all of your perks – your t-shirts and posters and all – and we’ll be sending these out in the New Year. We’ll also be creating a proper acknowledgements page and crediting all of our fantastic supporters.
Some individuals have been particularly supportive – you know who you are – but the beauty of crowd-funding is that everyone gives what they can. Thank you all.
If you missed this and still want to give you can go here and lend your support at any time.
