Tomorrow we announce our top 20 shortlisted posters for the indyref poster competition. The top entries will be on display from 11 am to 12.30 pm at the CCA, Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow, where we’ll be presenting them to the press.
If you’d like to come along and see them just turn up. We’ll be upstairs at in the Club Room.
We’ve had an amazing response and any of the top 20 could win the £1000 prize.
As Janie Nicoll put it:
The posters submitted for this competition reflect a huge range of creative approaches to the theme of ‘Independence’ and making a selection of was not an easy task. Hopefully the ones that do go on show illustrate a high level of creativity and engagement with the subject, reflecting the energy and enthusiasm for the campaign currently going on the length and breadth of Scotland.
The competition saw entries from amateur and professional artists alike and was cut down from over 200 initial entries, to 33 and now to the final 20.
Next Friday 5th September we’ll announce the winner at a special evening in Edinburgh.
Come along – have your say – tell us which one you like best.
The response reflects the amazing creativity that the campaign has unleashed and the passion and talent from so many is something special.
We’re sorry if your image didn’t make the final cut – but be cheered by the fact that it was very competitive.
We’ll be making the winner’s poster available through Yes hubs, shops and centres. So, watch this space for more details.
Why no Shetland Isles?
Once you’ve seen the posters come down to the Leiper Gallery at 117 West George Street, corner with Renfield Street, to see the Auld Acquaintance exhibition of Indyref cartoons put on by the Scottish Cartoon Art Studio.
