Michael Moore’s Trump To Do List

trump-land-middle-classThis is by writer and filmmaker Michael Moore.

Morning After To-Do List:

1. Take over the Democratic Party and return it to the people. They have failed us miserably.

2. Fire all pundits, predictors, pollsters and anyone else in the media who had a narrative they wouldn’t let go of and refused to listen to or acknowledge what was really going on. Those same bloviators will now tell us we must “heal the divide” and “come together.” They will pull more hooey like that out of their ass in the days to come. Turn them off.

3. Any Democratic member of Congress who didn’t wake up this morning ready to fight, resist and obstruct in the way Republicans did against President Obama every day for eight full years must step out of the way and let those of us who know the score lead the way in stopping the meanness and the madness that’s about to begin.

4. Everyone must stop saying they are “stunned” and “shocked”. What you mean to say is that you were in a bubble and weren’t paying attention to your fellow Americans and their despair. YEARS of being neglected by both parties, the anger and the need for revenge against the system only grew. Along came a TV star they liked whose plan was to destroy both parties and tell them all “You’re fired!” Trump’s victory is no surprise. He was never a joke. Treating him as one only strengthened him. He is both a creature and a creation of the media and the media will never own that.

5. You must say this sentence to everyone you meet today: “HILLARY CLINTON WON THE POPULAR VOTE!” The MAJORITY of our fellow Americans preferred Hillary Clinton over Donald Trump. Period. Fact. If you woke up this morning thinking you live in an effed-up country, you don’t. The majority of your fellow Americans wanted Hillary, not Trump. The only reason he’s president is because of an arcane, insane 18th-century idea called the Electoral College. Until we change that, we’ll continue to have presidents we didn’t elect and didn’t want. You live in a country where a majority of its citizens have said they believe there’s climate change, they believe women should be paid the same as men, they want a debt-free college education, they don’t want us invading countries, they want a raise in the minimum wage and they want a single-payer true universal health care system. None of that has changed. We live in a country where the majority agree with the “liberal” position. We just lack the liberal leadership to make that happen (see: #1 above).

Let’s try to get this all done by noon today.

I agree with nearly all of what he has said , but somehow he avoids the reality that Presidents are powerless figureheads , and that the binary politics of america for change is in electing the senators – this is where both those binaries that want change should be looking towards , yet still elect the rich to enrich themselves further.

There is no poverty in American politics , from its founding fathers right through to todays millionaire senators – one of which on paper is worth more than trump in the pocket but not assets , they created the system in their favor not that of voters.

the democrat elite lost because they ensured bernie sanders, the leftish populist, wouldn’t be their candidate . clinton pursued her ambition in selfish self interest, when polls showed sanders was the candidate to beat trump.

the democrat elite&donors did not want economic change which might impede corporate profits or decrease US involvement in wars in any form so they backed clinton.

moore’s appeal to elected democrats to fight for what exactly – not stopping the TTP? ramping up aggro against russia/assad, iran etc – and praise of clinton’s followers as more progressive in any deep sense than trump’s is vacuous.

his defence of his country’s inherent sensibleness (especially re guns & value of human life) and belief in the democrats ability to be reformed is unconvincing.

the benefits of the US giving up their global policeman aims could be immense. & perhaps that was his fellow citizens attempt to sensible. the US working class dies in those wars so favoured by US politicians until now as do hundreds of thousands of people internationally.

obamacare as moore has noted himself was crap. trump may do worse. but don’t pretend the democrats were good on public healthcare, or ever intended to put the public interest above thecorporate profits of insurance companies. thousands weren’t covered at all.

continued attempts to drag people back the carcass of the democratic party , including by sanders, moore, etc are a big part of the problem.

I think instead of point 5 (Hillary won the popular vote) he should ask a question of his fellow citizens.

How did only 54% turn out to vote ?

That may provide more useful information.

    1. interpolar says:

I fully agree, and you beat me to making the point. T is running on something like a 25% endorsement of the electorate. Although those who do not vote essentially delegate their voice to those who have, this is not exactly a resounding mandate for “change”, and one should not tire to remind T of it.

      1. MBC says:

I had to go to a US government website to find out the turnout figures. I didn’t hear or see it reported anywhere on the MSM. Did I miss something?

100 million US citizens of 231 million who were registered to vote, didn’t bother to show in the most important US election in decades.

That is stunning. Who are these flakes? Why did they think there was no difference or no problem whoever won?

The hidden gem of revelation is the role of the worlds MSM or should I say faux news originators have played. America, Australia Canada, NewZealand, Britain all Anglo Celtic Nations which were 100 per cent opposed to Donald Trump as were the populous of those nations. Which is not logical when you consider most of those people would know bugger all about the real Donald Trump. In their arrogance the forgot that Trump is one of the worlds consummate media performers, a maestro conductor in complete control of the sound. Trump played them on a break, delivering a masterclass in the art of war, and how to be the victor. Brilliantly played Donald congratulations. Donald Trump will prove to be one of the finest American Presidents in their history, exactly when they most needed him. Cometh the moment, cometh the man, so true.

    1. c rober says:

Hardly , Trump promised the world , through removing trade imports , creating jobs to supply americans with american goods , reopening mines and smelters.

However he is in no way an economist , as multiple bankruptcies show , and without biased trade deals it has had in the past , then it is headed for something worse than the Financial crisis as a result – He simply cannot create money from nothing to supply the things he speaks of , and definitely not through the fed as its private owned.

Where is the American debt levels again , http://www.usdebtclock.org/ , there is no pay down only kicking the can. Anyone that has investments with ties to America will slowly sell off assets , including China and its dollar reserves through debt bonds…. more so as he has promised to increase tarrifs on them.

He cannot make Mexico put up a wall , unless he either breaks it economically , invades or it becomes the 51st state – thus supplying even cheaper labour , making it Americas inbuilt China. Remember he has told Ford he will impose 35 percent trade tarrifs on Mexican made vehicles – and this also would affect EU car makers as they also have Mexican plants that supply America.

He cannot afford to create the north of 500 000 troops he has promised , as well as the investment into building up the army and navy.

These are just two of the realities that have escaped the electorate , and the investors , and there is over 100 more promises , where the majority are undeliverable.

Then we have EBay , Apple , Google , and his promises to bring back the trillions they have offshore – good luck with that , apple manufacture nothing in America its all china assembly and korean chip foundaries.

He perfectly represents the reason why Presidents are figure heads – and the power remains in the senate , he knows it – but may even see a second term as a result of blaming the senate from him being prevented from supplying the mandate the electorate endorsed…. Sounds very familiar to me.

How could Donald fail with a Scottish mother from the Clan MacLeod whose motto is Hold Fast, and their symbol a bull?
I am sure he will hold fast against any opponent, and will require a bulldozer effort to clean out the crap from all of the corrupt American institutions.

    1. Alf Baird says:

For sure, Trump will “drain the swamp”. We could do with his help to drain Scotland’s public sector swamp, where the unionist-elite still run virtually every public institution, courtesy of the SNP.

Well here’s one for the record. You say that he is from the Macleod clan, maybe. But when, over twenty years I visited him in his office ( at his invitation if I remember rightly) to raise a million dollars for an international centre for reconciliation called the Macleod centre his manner of treating me was rude, obnoxious, verging on the crazy and has left me terrified. And I choose my words carefully.
