Pods of Choice: Gaslit Nation, Fakenewscast and All Hail Pod
Each week we showcase the best podcasts we’ve found (send us your suggestions). This week we have three new podcasts to recommend….
First up is Gaslit Nation with American journalists Andrea Chalupa and Sarah Kendzior, in this issue they discuss the aftermath of the Kavanaugh confirmation, the tattered future of the Mueller investigation, the possible compromise of the FBI, and the transnational crackdown on journalists who document corruption and speak up against repressive governments.
Second up, Eve Livingston on gender, journalism, fake news and feminism …
Third – here is feminist and socialist activist Cat Boyd joined by Stella Rooney as they discuss #MeToo, Glasgow’s Equal Pat Strike and the role of feminists in the Scottish independence movement and class struggle.
The show title is taken from a 1913 message of support to English suffragettes from James Connolly, which said: “When the trimmers and the compromisers disavow you, a poor slum bred politician, I raise my hat in thanksgiving that I have lived to see this insurgence of women”.
