Butler, Blake and Grant, Collins, Wilson, Solareye and Mogwai …

MIDNIGHT AMBULANCE
The mighty Midnight Ambulance are from North Berwick, and are the beautiful combo of Amelia Stokes (vocals/drums), Fraser Fulton (guitar/vocals).
Here’s ‘Smoke and Sweets’ from their latest E.P. The video is billed as Chapter One “This is a story that dives into the mind of someone whose reality is slipping away. The video follows a 3D figurine of Fraser, stuck in isolation and falling between reality and surrealism as the walls decay and close in around him.”

That Edwyn Collins track is a beauty.
They are all depressional, but the C&W tune is the least maudlin and is the only one that features a real drummer. But thankfully there is far, far more to music than minor-key ballads and bad hip-hop.
Here is Scottish music played by a Scotsman that is obviously way beyond the limited musical boundaries of the person that wrote the article: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oy5pByCySm4
Here’s Shogun fae Paisley. Blows away the rapper recommended by the list author.
