  1. Alasdair Macdonald says:

Sadly, never mind a ‘forgettable election’, this has been a forgettable podcast. The gloom, pessimism, cynicism, particularly from Jamie Maxwell was representative of the dire state of journalism in Scotland.

Only at around 20 minutes when Mike Small introduced the possibility of the UK just falling apart did my interest pick up, but, despite Mr Small’s efforts this was lost in the grim boredom steam roller of Mr Maxwell.

The context of the war in Iran and the genocide in Gaza was only partly referred to. The lack of direction of the Labour Government, even further becalmed, by the uncertainty of the outcomes of the parliamentary elections in Scotland and Wales and the council elections in England presents a huge impediment to any mildly interesting election campaign, because, despite devolution, so much real economic power is retained in Westminster.

    A disappointment.
