Stand Up to racism, Say No to the Far-Right

This is a call to action from Positive Action in Housing, which we fully support:

Last night, a violent mob of over 400 masked men followed far-right and fascist activists through Glasgow city centre, violently attacking people of colour.

They unfolded a banner mentioning Henry Nowak, whose family have asked that their tragedy not be weaponised to create division.

Join Stand Up to Racism Glasgow at Buchanan Steps on Saturday at 1pm to reclaim our streets for the anti-racist majority and send a clear message that we say no to the far right.

Stand Up to Racism is asking civic organisations, anti-racist organisations, elected MPs and MSPs, trade unions, NGOs and others to provide a short statement supporting the event and condemning the far right.

Glaswegians of all backgrounds, all faiths and none, will stand together against any attempt to spread violence and hatred in our communities. Time and again, we have shown the far right that the majority reject their rhetoric.

We urge anyone who is concerned by these scenes on our streets to get involved with Stand Up to Racism and help prepare to resist racism and the far right in every community.

Say No to the Far Right – 1.00 pm Saturday 13 June 2026

We are being led down the road into Fascism and Racism by our politicians and the media that promote and carry their message. Each of our UK political parties sings the same song; stop the boats, send them home. All of their statements are routinely put up as headline news.

In Crime reporting, only the guilty with dark features are shown on TV with the the worst pictures selected for repeated publication. The man in Portsmouth that was stabbed was a tragedy but for several days we were shown pictures of his assailant to be sure we knew that he had a brown face. In Northern Ireland, another gruesom attack, again we are shown drawings of the assailant’s dark face. Tonight an Iraqi youth was sentenced for paedophilic crimes; first item on the news again with his brown face front and centre. Now the only other item on the news targets small shops looking for illegal workers, smuggled cigarettes and Vapes

We have home grown killers rapists and paedophiles and gangsters but they quietly go down, if they are caught, without mention that they are UK born and raised.

it wouldn’t surprise me if this violence was orchestrated by the British State as endorsed by 53% of the registered electorate who recently gave the Scottish Nato Parliament their votes, given the policies these parliaments have pursued & continue to pursue at home & abroad it is consistent with their modus operandi

  3. John says:

The ‘protestors’ in Belfast and Glasgow displaying how little knowledge they have of history complaining about immigrants coming to Scotland and Ireland. On a par with anti immigrant protests in England complaining about immigrants coming ‘over here and trying to force their culture on the locals’. They obviously don’t understand irony either.
