The Argument for Bombing Dalfador
Let’s take out the Nambutu Embassy (see map) and bring Petoria on board. We will of course need a no-fly zone over Graustark, and we will need to resolve the Bordurian-Syldavian conflict in the long run.
The danger in all this is of course that Oceania, Panem and ultimately Abaton become involved, but this seems highly unlikely at this stage. If we base the bombing campaign in Hoth (Tatooine) then there’s no need for UN, or even SHIELD approval for such raids.
The argument for bombing entirely fictional places as an act of surrealist pacifism couldn’t be made any better than by us here in Brigadoon, a fantasy place with a fictional grip on its own foreign policy.
Dalfador, Nublar, Zamunda you have been warned.
Insofar as Agrabah exists at all it must be an enclave within Disneyland. So what do these Republicans have against California that they would want to bomb it?
19% of Dems are well. So even bigger news is that around 25% of Americans are so are so kneejerk islamaphobic they’d support bombing anywhere that sounded vaguely muslim.
Now I suspect some of those people were being facetious but maybe I’m too optimistic about people.
A really sad fact also is that because Westminster can’t afford it’s own Foreign Policy and has subsequently adopted that of the USA,we get dragged into these conflicts by the same type of knuckle draggers on this side of the Atlantic.
All to allow important (in their minds) people to throw their weight around and feel important on the global stage.
I’m all for it. Especially with those super special ‘British/French’ bombs. So accurate they can follow you home from the corner shop. Unless you’re going to a family wedding. In which case it was likely a command and control centre anyway. Nothing says Democracy quite like incinerating someone’s extended family.
So right brinington,the tragedy is that we follow these morons from the USA,for a country that have the capabilities to do so much good in the world yet choose murder and mayhem,they are a very big worry.
I hope rather that many of these fictional places will be left unattacked! Don’t we need some escapist refuges for relief from the turmoil and bloodshed of the ‘real’ world?
Sorry, but I’ve already had Trumpton vaporised.
It is only revealing that which was promised by Jeremiah in Ch 51
“Thou art my battle axe and weapons of war: for with thee will I break in pieces the nations, and with thee will I destroy kingdoms;
21And with thee will I break in pieces the horse and his rider; and with thee will I break in pieces the chariot and his rider;
22With thee also will I break in pieces man and woman; and with thee will I break in pieces old and young; and with thee will I break in pieces the young man and the maid;
23I will also break in pieces with thee the shepherd and his flock; and with thee will I break in pieces the husbandman and his yoke of oxen; and with thee will I break in pieces captains and rulers.
29And the land shall tremble and sorrow: for every purpose of the LORD shall be performed against Babylon, to MAKE THE LAND OF BABYLON A DESOLATION WITHOUT AN INHABITANT
So sayeth the King James Bible
Do the neo-cons expect to win?
Probably.
Perhaps by 2020, folk will have forgotten their religion, the drone deaths of close family members, the contempt for their very lives? The acceptance of ultimate surrender to death from the sky?
Frankly I doubt that very much. I think it will have exactly the opposite effect.
Whilst an examined life, by Western standards, is a contemptible life, espcially if it is ‘foreign’, we are taught that their opinion is somehow amenable to “death from the skies”?
That makes no sense to me.
It is not a flag and not a ‘soccer mom’ nor a flag and ‘Thanksgiving’ nor a flag and most certainly not submission to ‘Death from the skies’.
It is something that judges and finds everyone else wanting? What gives ‘us’ the right to create a medium that exterminates what the ‘soccer mom’ is taught to ‘hate’. That is no sort of democracy that I’d choose to recognise.
It is not ‘us’.
By then, of course, there will, finally, be no-one left to argue with the drone owners. We will have created a wasteland and called it peace.
The next target might be Europeans, for Europeans are not American enough.
And so it goes……
Now that’s the best idea I’ve heard for ages….Instead of having real wars for fictional reasons…lets do it the other way round!
Reminds me of newscasts from America during the Vietnam war where young men willing to enlist for active service were asked what their motivation was. ” I wanna shoot a Gook” was a regular answer. Without doubt, despite the exponential growth in our knowledge of the world and it’s inhabitants, America still lives on a diet of pulp fiction where anyone from another country is regarded as expendable at best, of lower stature, even sub human by birth. Trump’s outpourings probably appeal to a deep seated feeling of superiority frequently displayed by people who think that material wealth sets them on another plane.
And these are the leaders of the “Free and Democratic” worldThey along with us are trying to impose our Democracy on countries that have survived well enough with their own style of government.
The so called Axis of Evil as puppet George Bush Jr referred to are Iraq, Iran, Libya, North Korea, countries with no central banks, what a coincidence.
Except that all of those countries actually do have central banks.
