Happy Christmas Everyone!

We’re logging off for the holidays. A big big thanks to all our readers, all our writers and columnists and to everyone who supports us. I hope everyone has a chance to take some time off and (if it’s possible) a chance to re-charge in these dark and weird times.  Merry Christmas!

All the best for Christmas and New Year.

You have continued and expanded the output during these strange times and have confronted the balefulness and stupidity which seemed to infect a number of reportedly pro-independence groups. The discourse has been eclectic and, on the whole, informative and stimulating.

    1. Thanks you very much Alasdair, hope you have a good holiday, best Mike

  6. Jane says:

So all the very best to you and all at Bella for the year ahead. Your dedication and rigour much needed. Hope springs infernal so keep the fire going.

    Hi Mike,
Thank you for ALL of your output, not least your efforts in providing a platform for all…
Come the resumption could we have some observations on Alistair Campbell’s article on the co-authored book “The Sovereign Individuals”
sub-titled – “Mastering the Transition to the Information Age”.
    – I think it was on Tortoise Media(?). The co-authors were James Dale Davidson and Lord William Rees-Mogg. (yes, the pater!)
Possibly an appropriate start to our coming change in fortunes!
…Seasons Greetings and may you all remain safe and sane.

    1. Hi Ray – thanks for y9our kind and positive words.

I’d read something about Rees-Mogg snrs book through Fintan O’Toole but I hadnt read Alsatair Campbells take. Have you got a link to that?

      All the best, Mike

      1. rayt says:

Here y’go, hope this is of use – the content of the book itself (if you can get access to a copy) is quite frightening.
Alistair Campbell’s summary/precis is a pretty neat distillation.
In the meantime – take it easy for now – I’ve got a feeling things will get a bit more difficult across the board, after the 1st.!
Here’s wishing you fortitude for the coming year.

Alastair Campbell: The 23-year-old book that explains Brexit – Tortoise
‘The Sovereign Individual’ was co-authored by William Rees-Mogg, father of Jacob. Its politics are those of the modern libertarian right
