A History Of Scottish Drama In Six Plays
Scots Whay Hae! interviews Fergus Morgan to talk about his excellent podcast A History of Scottish Drama in Six Plays.
Over six episodes the podcast travel from pre-Reformation Scotland to the present day, exploring seminal plays along the way – including A Satire Of The Three Estates, Men Should Weep, Losing Venice, Passing Places, and Black Watch – and discussing their significance in the ongoing evolution of Scottish drama.

Another excellent Scottish theatre history primer is ‘A Noble Clown’, Michael Daviot’s solo play about the life of the Scottish actor Duncan Macrae (1905 – 1967), which was staged at the Scottish Storytelling Centre, Edinburgh, on 30 November and 1 December 2024. It deserves a Scottish tour. Catch it if it gets one!
