Briana Pegado is a creative producer and the Founder of the Edinburgh Student Arts Festival (ESAF), an award winning social enterprise that provides a platform for emerging artists in Scotland. She is also a co-founder of Povo, a process-led creative collective that engages people with the creative process through research and experimentation. She is a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and explores how sustainable development principles can be more widely applied to the creative industries through her freelance work. She sits on Scottish Government’s Can Do Creative Forum, is Vice Chair of YWCA Scotland – the Young Women’s Movement, and a member of the Board of Creative Edinburgh. She is also the youngest member of the University of Edinburgh’s General Council Business Committee. She writes often about intersectionality, inequalities in the creative industries, feminism, and shamanism.
