Joe McCann is a black writer from Glasgow.
He is compelled to tell stories about the black working-class experience. His works include Dented Little Faces (Art School), Lace Up (Traverse Theatre), Things My White Friends Say (The Tron) and The Charcoal Rooms (Traverse theatre). The Bookies, a black comedy he co-wrote, had a hugely successful run at Dundee Rep last year. His latest piece, Alföld was directed by Dominic Hill as a part of A Play, A Pie and A Pint’s 2022 autumn season and was recently nominated for The CATS Awards in the best director category.
Joe lives in Dennistoun with his wife, Virág.
