In Eurotunnel’s letter of complaint to Grayling in early January 2019 the Eurotunnel President complained of two things with these being a) the award of ferry contracts without due competitive tender process and b) the compromising of the channel tunnel Concession Agreement.
Indeed, in the very same letter Eurotunnel made it crystal clear that they would as a result of Grayling’s actions seek redress in either of the jurisdictions of France or England. And so, a mere eight weeks later a public announcement that the hapless British taxpayer is up for £33million compensation.
But how could it come to this. How can it be that in the case of over £100m of ferry contracts minister Grayling and his civil servants can just glad hand awards of this scale without any due tender process in compliance with the law.
Playing fast and loose with the taxpayers money and squaring up the pals out of the hapless taxpayers tin is what seems to have been going on here whilst poor wee Mrs McGlumphy hands over her mite. But how much more of this is going on. This cannot be the only example of such practice.
There needs to be, or should be a criminal investigation into what has happened here. But there won’t be. Helping yourself and the pals to wads of taxpayers cash is the British, and especially Tory way, and this is but a small example of it.

Failing Grayling isn’t just incompetent. He is also corrupt. He was one of the major offenders in the expenses scandal, not only flipping his main residence but deliberately spreading his home improvement claims over 2 years to ensure he received maximum recompense from taxpayers. As Shadow Secretary of State for Work & Pensions, meanwhile, he accused benefit claimants of “playing the system.”

Gie the lad a chance..let him run the planet..talk tae world leaders…sort the environment…he could organise the fish oot the

The sad fact is that, like the PM, he simply will not resign nor will she sack him. They are simply ignoring the various ‘conventions’ of ‘our unwritten constitution’. By being unwritten, it can be made up as it goes along and given that a huge number of MPs are hanging on to their seats to milk as many perks as they can, there is nothing legally that can be done to deal with this matter. This displays the corruption of the Westminster system, and yet around half of the population of Scotland are prepared to go along with it.
I mean, is it just me, or is the Grayling fiasco not something which would have led to a resignation in the past?
This government just does exactly as it wants. It’s like the moral gravity has gone from UK politics entirely, or maybe it’s just manners and basic respect…
The Tories aren’t pretending any longer. There is no longer any need to keep up the show. They’re just useless selfish basarts and they do exactly as they please, making up policy as they go along….
It’s like the whole Tory government is drunk or wired or something…
I think Trump cottoned on to something that the Tories are only now realising: It doesn’t matter what you do as long as you are in power. All you need is a brass neck and to ignore common decency. Sorted.
